We’re facing a broad attack on workers’ rights. Tens of thousands of workers have been laid off and Washington, at the direction of billionaires trying to enrich themselves, is moving forward with devastating proposals to cut $2 trillion in funding for services and programs that working families rely on.
Just last Friday, the Department of Homeland Security went into full union-busting mode announcing that it would eliminate the union contract for over 47,000 TSA officers and immediately end payroll dues deduction. That means workers will no longer have the protections of a strong contract, and won't be able to bargain for better pay and working conditions in the future. We can't let them get away with this attack on unions.
- Social Security and Medicare
- Broadband funding dedicated to job creation and more work for CWA members
- Medicaid funding that our healthcare facilities and millions of Americans rely on
- The National Labor Relations Board enforces labor law and union protections, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission that helped our Local 1180 members settle a multi-million dollar wage case, OSHA protects workers on the job
— It’s all under threat.
Unelected billionaires like Elon Musk have been given free rein to shut down services and force layoffs for their own gains.
It's time to act and show up together. Join us and thousands of other union members and workers for a mass rally to tell Congress and the billionaires to stop the cuts!
When: Saturday, March 15, at 11 am
Where: Foley Square, Manhattan
