In this show hosts LaGrange and Schneck are joined by Rob Martinez an Immigration Lawyer and Civil Rights Activist. NYSUT’s John Coverdale chats up the importance of education and how MLK influenced him as a union leader, Laborers 66’s Eric Smith was 7 years old when MLK was assassinated and marched with his community in 1968 so he stops into studio to share that experience. Rolando Scott Jr. of CWA 1109 in Brooklyn gives a history lesson and talks of the progress we made as a society as a result of the Civil Rights Movement. Plus calling in from Toronto is the NHL Players Association’s Mathieu Schneider. This former Ranger and Islander gives us an inside look into negotiations and the NHL Lockout and tells of how the NHL Hockey Players were heavily involved in the process.
