As per IRS regulation, the Local will be issuing 1099-misc for Strike Benefits received during the 2016 Verizon Strike. CWA Local 1109 is recommending that you report the 1099 when you file your taxes.
COBRA payments and medical payments made on your behalf are not reported. You will receive a 1099 only if you received more than $600.00 in weekly strike payments.
The 1099 forms will be mailed out to your homes shortly.
